STUPID, and it’s offspring, are everywhere. STUPID showed up in DC on MLK’s birthday with a host of other STUPID’S. STUPID is running for re-election in the 6th district in Minnesota and STUPID wants to burn the Koran (Quran) in Gainesville Florida
Do we really need Patraeus … or the White House … or anyone yelling “OH NO .. DON’T BURN THAT BOOK?”

GOP Ready To Eat It’s Young! Delaware Tea Party Getting Hammered By Republicans

We’ve seen this 100 times. The GOP throwing someone useless in the party under the bus. Bush … Rummy … After the criminals served the party to their fullest, and in some cases fell on the sword (Scooter Libby) they get eaten and tossed aside.
The Tea bagging Tea Party is the bastard kid of the GOP. The brat with no reins. But when the GOP saw the media clamor to see the baby, Republicans saw an opportunity. They can use the kid. Use their own offspring to promote themselves. The party of Hitler Bush and KKKarl Rove, jumped on the Tea Party Express. At Photo-ops they smiled and hugged their offspring like proud parents. With no discipline, the spoiled baby got it’s way … again .. and again .. and again. Now the Tea Party baby wants it all – even Daddy’s postions – and the GOP is about to eat it’s offspring.
ROUND 1 – Delaware – GOP v Tea Party
The Delaware Republicans are trying to strangle the hype for Christine O’Donnell, the Tea Party Express-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate who’s spoiling the coronation for Mike Castle. National Journal asks the Tea Party Express to comment on O’Donnell’s finances, which the Delaware GOP have been talking about for weeks. The group blows off the question. The DE GOP attacks:
While it is disappointing that the Tea Party Express has not done any due diligence on troubled perennial candidate Christine O’Donnell, it is our hope that they will investigate her half-truths and outright lies before squandering tens of thousands of dollars on a candidate who is not electable in Delaware or anywhere else for that matter.”
The Delaware GOP continued its pushback, releasing a video showing O’Donnell’s campaign staff attacking a Republican videographer during an event earlier in the week.

Rally in DC – Beck Scores a Home Run! Progressives Laugh Till November

And .. everyone listened. Deny all you want but with the coverage this clown got, Beck is a hit!!
Doesn’t matter if it was 1 or 100,000 – each one teach one and 1 is all it took. Beck himself. Guess what, eventhough the majority was white folk (like that mattered) at an MLK event, white people have money and they buy votes! And they show up at these things … and we progressives, liberals and the sane, laugh and poke fun at how stupid is, “IN” and Main Stream Media (and net media) covers the new “stupid,” .. and we laugh and pretend this is going nowhere … and they fund each other and Palin gets more coverage (and $) … and we laugh in blogs …
And then … SURPRISE, SURPRISE they start moving up in the polls and we still laugh (like this isn’t happening) and we post cheeky comments about their silly rallies … And they get noticed and continue to mobilize, and they get more coverage and oops, they start winning primaries and soon … we’re not laughing. I know I’m not.
Where were the counter protesters at this Beck fuck fest? (Sharpton doesn’t count) I mean real people with a counter voice? The progressive counter movement. The pro war counter protesters were en-mass when IYFR covered and protested the war in ‘03, ‘04, ‘05, ‘06, ‘07, ‘08. The Counters got more MSM coverage than we did.
Hell no, I’m not laughing.
Beck, with all his campiness, scored big and we did nothing but laugh and that won’t stop him.

Tom Delay Going on Trial in Austin, Texas

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, accused of money laundering, will get a fair trial in Austin, a Texas judge rule.
Senior Judge Pat Priest’s ruling did not please DeLay’s attorney, who said “heavily Democratic” Travis County has a “strong anti-Tom DeLay feeling.”
The Travis County prosecutor has charged DeLay with illegally funneling corporate campaign contributions.
“He’s obviously very thoughtful, listened to the evidence and ruled from his heart,” District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg said of Priest’s ruling.
The Republican was indicted in 2005 on charges he illegally sent $190,000 in corporate money through the Republican National Committee to help elect GOP Texas legislative candidates in 2002.
DeLay, who resigned in 2006, has pleaded not guilty to money laundering and conspiracy. He has said the October 26 trial will clear him.
His attorney, Dick DeGuerin, told CNN the case was “highly political” and should have been heard in DeLay’s home county of Fort Bend. He said the case against his client began over congressional redistricting that gave Republicans control.
“He’s finally going to get a trial. He’s literally been begging for five years,” said DeGuerin, adding the evidence “will show he didn’t do anything.”
Two other men facing charges in the case will be tried later.
Last week, DeLay said a separate, long-running federal criminal investigation of him had been closed with no charges.
DeLay was under investigation for his ties to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials. Abramoff admitted defrauding Native American tribal clients of millions of dollars for help in gaining casino licenses.
DeLay said he had informed Abramoff that “our relationship is over” when he learned of Abramoff’s plans for casinos aboard cruise ships. He also told reporters that during a visit to a casino on a Choctaw reservation he was disgusted when he saw a long line of baby carriages lined up while parents were gambling at 11:30 p.m.

The official end of America’s combat mission in Iraq next week will fulfill the campaign promise that helped vault President Obama to the White House.
George Bush’s Lie in Iraq formally changes on Aug. 31 to a support role of 50,000 American “advise and assist” troops that will remain in the country for 16 months more, still in harm’s way and still armed for combat if necessary.
Political posturing is the norm in Washington, and claiming victory and an end to a war is far more popular than bearing the burden of leadership and dealing with reality.

Of course US troops will still be a presence in Iraq. Iraq sits on plenty of oil and war profiteers can squeeze a few more coins from the Pentagon and the middle class. In a lessor role, but far more publicized, Iraqi forces are poised to take the helm. Big deal. A war and 9/11 were the excuse for the brutal rape.
As our troops head home let’s take stock of what happened. Operation Iraqi Freedom was actually Operation War Profiteering at the expense of innocent lives in the name of 9/11.
