Arizona Losing Tourism Dollars: Say No To Arizona Has Begun
The word is out. SB1070 is the buzz. The noise. Leaders from around the country are calling for your tourist dollars to go elsewhere. Anywhere. Just not Arizona. Arizona is out.
Tom “Stop Illegals” Tancredo feels the law is unenforceable. Rubio, Rove (who should be in jail) even Jebby are uncomfortable with Brewers HATE law and Arizona is beginning to feel the fallout.
Arizona’s recession-ravaged tourism industry is nervously bracing for more economic woe amid mounting calls to boycott the southwestern border state after its tough new immigration law.
Hoteliers across Arizona have begun to report a wave of canceled reservations in the wake of Governor Jan Brewer’s decision to sign a law Friday which critics say will open the door to racial profiling by police.
Boycott supporters are hoping to emulate the success of the campaign which sprang up after Arizona rescinded Martin Luther King Jr Day as a public holiday in 1987, leading to cancellation of conventions worth millions of dollars.
“We are calling on organizations not to schedule conventions or conferences in the state until it reverses this decision,” said Democratic congressman Raul Grijalva in a statement.
“This is a specifically targeted call for action, not a blanket rejection of the state economy. Conventions are a large source of visitors and revenue, and targeting them is the most effective way to make this point” Grijalva added.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) was one of the first groups to heed the boycott call, transferring the association’s 2010 autumn conference scheduled for Arizona to another state.
“We cannot in good conscience spend association dollars in a state that dehumanizes the people we represent and fight for,” AILA President Bernie Wolfsdorf said in a statement.
“What Governor Brewer has done by signing this bill into law is to validate all of the irrational fears by people who are not willing to acknowledge the economic and cultural benefits of immigration to our country.”
IYFR: Thank god Snapple isn’t made in Arizona. Never liked AZ tea anyway.
Being the “Rogue” that she is, you know Sara Gump will be sure to grab a bit of this “limelight” controversy by rallying her tea baggers to “come out and support Arizona.” If there’s coin to be had, you can be sure Palin will be there with mouth and purse wide open. Can you dig it??
Bryson Parker IYFR Contributor: God People Are Brain Damaged

God People Are Brain Damaged
by Bryson Parker
In the wake of the disinvited nut case evangelist Franklin Graham from a prayer event at the Pentagon, (he got the boot) the pro Muslim Civil Liberties nuts jobs now want Franklin Graham booted from praying in Congress because “Islam is a “very evil and wicked religion.” An eye for an eye? One nutty god group, chastising another nutty god group.
Of course big mouthed evangelicals like Franklin, and his father Billy before his, couldn’t end it there. No sirree. Frank had to PROVE his God isn’t as retarded as that evil Muslim god by saying “Muslims were ‘enslaved’ by their beliefs then called on his holy masses to join him in prayer at the Cannon House.
ARE YOU KIDDING?? Pot … kettle … black?
Franklin Graham comes from a gene pool of religious zealots who prey on people’s weaknesses like slimy used car salesmen. The world forgets his father’s infamous, if not stupid, “jews” quote in a conversation between Graham and Nixon that took place in 1972 about how to deal with the problem of the “satanic Jews” whom Graham felt maintained a “total Jewish domination of the media.”
This allegation was completely at odds with the public image America had of Billy Graham. On Holy High – Man of God. As would be expected, Graham quickly denounced and denied the statements as outright lies saying, “Those are not my words. I have never talked publicly or privately about the Jewish people, including conversations with President Nixon, except in the most positive terms.”
I’m thinking Billy didn’t believe he’d live long enough for the Nixon tapes to be revealed where clearly, in his voice – that of His Holiness Grahams – is heard asking Tricky Dick how to deal with the problem of the “satanic Jews” whom Graham felt maintained a “total Jewish domination of the media.”
Cock your head to one side and look like you’re a deer in headlights … That was just one of Billy’s brain damaged moments. When caught in their ON HOLY HIGH BS then LIES to cover it up the HATE, evangelicals like all religious zealots, go instantly brain damaged.
Instant public brain damage, whether religious or political, is usually followed by a series of lies, cheating, deception and cover-ups all in the name of God.
Sounds like the Party of Nuts.
In the wake of the Nixon tapes, do you think Bill would have fessed up and asked for forgiveness? Hell no. His brain damage continued in the press claiming he has no such memory of those words. As if he never said them. Let’s pretend I never said that. Maybe they’ll understand my brain affliction.
Where Graham’s gene pool hold the current record for going brain damaged for 2 generations, Muslim religious terrorists, on the other hand, like many other insane middle eastern religions, have the honor of being completely brain damaged for at least 2000 years. Oppression – Burka’s – wife beatings … and other terrorists delights.
All done – all said – all beat – all killed – in the name of God. Brain Damage.
I could list the indiscretions of all the big named religions. Devoted supporters eventually accept the religion’s brain damage and go on to make excuses. Case in point … Pedophile Priests who kiss a mans ring when they were told by god not to touch kids or worship false idols. Mormons massacring innocent men, women and child. People who worship snakes (Talk about deer in headlights? Try carrying on a conversation with this group of numb skulls), People who believe God has posessed them and they now talk in tongues when it’s probably just gas. They will get a pass.
The question is are the God conning men and women brain damaged, or the people who excuse it?
Does it matter? Amen.
Financial Reform Bill Is Going To Pass
GRAND STAND – GRANDSTAND – GRANDSTAND … that’s the show you can look forward to from the Republican Party of No on financial reform on C-Span.
The GOP will once again sell their supporters a load of crap on financial reform. Got Spoons?
With the small gain in their House numbers possibly coming to fruition in Nov, in the end it would be political suicide if they don’t vote on some form of financial reform.
The American people want it and the Republican Party of No, know it!
Everything that executives and their board members have earned over the last five years needs to be chewed back and American are fed up. They also know that Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell really screwed up by paling with Wall Street types two weeks ago. Not smart Mitch.
True to form The Republican Party of No are going to come forward GRANDSTANDING more as a delaying tactic and they’re going to put in hundreds of amendments and try to keep this going to stall, delay and kill reform. But that’s not going to happen.
This is going to pass.
Merry Go Round Table – Lowden Chickens – Poll Numbers – His Pope-ness & Immigration Reform – Graham Bolts on Climate Bill
Gallup continues to show a bump for the President, up to 50% for the first time in a few weeks.
Former Rep. Tom Campbell holds a narrow edge in the race to take on Senator Barbara Boxer.
FYI: CBS/NY Times has Obama up by 10 points.
No Apologies - His Pope-ness should host a new condom line. And we firmly agree with UK’s Sunday Telegraph newspaper proposing the pope should bless a gay marriage, and acknowledge the clerical sex abuse scandal by establishing a hot line for abused children, or honoring abuse whistleblowers.
IMMIGRATION REFORM NEXT UP: The Senate and House of Representatives will take up the immigration debate before the midterm election this fall, according to a Washington insider. Whether or not it will include provisions for a biometric identification card has yet to be determined.
There were some questions as to whether immigration would be taken up by the legislature before the midterm elections but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has won support from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are moving ahead.
Lindsey Graham bolts on Climate Change bill because Harry Reid put Immigration Bill first and his bill on the back burner.
Graham, the closet gay Republican TRAITOR can go piss in his stiletto’s for all we care.
UPDATE: We couldn’t leave this out!
“Doctors are reasonable people”
Senate hopeful Sue Lowden’s plan for Healthcare reform is to barter chickens for medical procedures. But you may be unsure how many chickens are required for your medical care. There’s a handy CHICKEN CONVERSION CALCULATOR on the site that shows many common procedures into chickens so you won’t look like an idiot at your next Doctor’s Appointment.

Have Conservatives Gone Mad?
From The Atlantic -Marc Ambinder
Serious thinkers on the right have finally gotten around to a full and open debate on the epistemic closure problem that’s plaguing the conservative movement. The issue, to put it in terms that even I can understand, because I didn’t study philosophy much in college: has the conservative base gone mad?
Can anyone deny that the most trenchant and effective criticism of President Obama today comes not from the right but from the left? Rachel Maddow’s grilling of administration economic officials. Keith Olbermann’s hectoring of Democratic leaders on the public option. Glenn Greenwald’s criticisms of Elena Kagan. Ezra Klein and Jonathan Cohn’s keepin’-them-honest perspectives on health care. The civil libertarian left on detainees and Gitmo. The Huffington Post on derivatives.
I want to find Republicans to take seriously, but it is hard. Not because they don’t exist — serious Republicans — but because, as Sanchez and others seem to recognize, they are marginalized, even self-marginalizing, and the base itself seems to have developed a notion that bromides are equivalent to policy-thinking, and that therapy is a substitute for thinking.
Conor Friedersdorf thinks the problem lies with the conservative movement’s major spokespeople – its radio/net news nexus — and the “overwhelming evidence that their very existence as popular entertainers hinges on an ability to persuade listeners that they are “‘worth taking seriously as political and intellectual actors.’” That is why the constant failures of these men to live up to their billing is so offensive, destructive, and ruinous to conservatives. There are plenty of women, too, is all I’ll say.
I think this sensibility is pervasive throughout the smart media — old and new. I think it’s one reason why, say, Jake Tapper and other good reporters are very keen about direct fact-challenging — why the media is reasserting itself as gatekeepers. (CNN might want to think about branding themselves here, even at the risk — well, the reality — of calling out Republicans more.) I think it’s because there’s so much misinformation out there — most of it spread by the conservative echo-chamber.
With the advent of Fox News and the power of that echo-chamber, complaints about liberal media bias are quite irrelevant — the reaction to it being like lupus’s reaction to the body, as Jon Stewart correctly noted.

Bush STILL Gets More Blame Than Obama for the Economy
Although President Obama has been in the White House for over a year, more Americans still blame former President Bush for the country’s economic problems than they do Obama, according to a Gallup poll conducted March 26-28.
Seventy-five percent blamed Bush a “great deal” or “moderate amount” compared to 50 percent who put responsibility on Obama (these figures include people who blame both). Taking the “great deal” category alone, 42 percent blame Bush a great deal compared to 26 percent who blame Obama.
The percentage of those who blame Obama a great deal is up from 14 percent compared to last July, but Bush’s number hasn’t changed much from his 43 percent figure last summer. The number of those who blamed Obama a moderate amount rose from 18 percent to 24 percent.
Along party lines, 26 percent of Democrats blame Obama a great deal or moderate amount and 75 percent either not much or not at all. Ninety percent blame Bush a great deal or moderate amount with 10 percent not blaming him much or at all.
Seventy-seven percent of Republicans blame Obama a great deal or moderate amount, with 23 percent not blaming him much or at all. Fifty-seven percent of Republicans put some measure of blame on Bush (although only 15 percent are in the “great deal” category) while 43 percent do not blame him much or at all anymore.
Fifty percent of independents blame Obama a great deal or moderate amount, while 49 percent blame him not much or not at all. Seventy-seven percent still blame Bush, while 24 percent blame him not much or at all.
“Theoretically, Obama accumulates more responsibility for the nation’s economy every day he’s in office,” Gallup said. “That could bear down increasingly hard on his approval rating if unemployment continues to hold at or near 10% and consumer attitudes remain negative. However, the big upside is that should the economy rebound on his watch — and recent Gallup tracking has some signs of a “nascent” recovery — Obama is poised to receive much of the credit.”
IYFR: Shades of a midterm election Democrat campaign slogan??
