Infiltrating The Tea Party was Easy Peasy – “They Never Knew We Were There”

Yes, you read that right
4/15/10: IYFR contributor undercover somewhere in the US at a Tea Party rally
It wasn’t hard to get close, get in and stay in. They didn’t have a clue. No surprise.
What was surprising is they’re still talking Palin nonsense about “death panels” and their level of overwhelming hatred – to the core – for Barack Obama. Being called a socialist was the least of the bashing Obama took from this group of 23, all white, mostly older men. These garish people used every racial slur you could imagine, including the “n” word. They were a scary bunch but accepting of us immediately. We were hoping for a larger group at this location.
Yes, this group had been alerted to be on the look out for people such as ourselves, but it’s hard to spot us when we walked, talked and dressed just like them, plus agreed with everything they said AND had the Tea Party slogan, and mentality, to prove it. Stop taxing us backed with anger and borderline rage. Piece of cake.
They talked of upcoming Tea Party rallies in the summer and fall, the “lipstick underground,” the Citizen Power Campaign and taking back the white house in 2012. We found that odd since the core Tea Party movement is at odds with the GOP, so who’s taking what back? We think they’re confused. They didn’t talk much about the midterm elections. They have their sites on the white house and getting “that guy out.”
Of course we enthusiastically signed the sheet to set up “covert” folding tables outside our local supermarkets. “Covert tables” are tables manned with one person armed with a petitions asking people to sign a state referendum against taxes and promoting the Tea Party.
If you’re opposed to taxes, sign! D’oh … but pretty ingenious!
What they don’t advertise at these tables anymore is they’re Tea Party members. This group tried that. It didn’t work. People just walked by and no amount of coaxing could talk them out of beelining it into Safeway. So after countless failures, plastering Tea Party signs on their tables, they took a different route by not mentioning the Tea Party at all. That seemed to work. The catch? Unbeknown to the signer, once you sign their petition you’re immediately counted as a Tea Party member. The wolf with the bait.
Of course being the loyal Tea Party members that we are, we signed up to man the tables that covered a wide area (many locations) at many different times over the next few weeks. In fact, we were so good we got the biggest slice of the “Covert” table locations pie. When we got home we checked our planners and lo and behold, we’re completely booked those days.
The Kicker: Most of this group don’t think Palin is effective enough. That was a huge surprise. They like her. She’s good to look at but lacks what they want in a leader. This group is an older Newt Gingrich type crowd. Move over Ma’am and let the old white guy finish the job. Their women folk agreed. Only one women believes Obama isn’t a citizen but the others don’t put much into that anymore. Most of us agreed with her. She really liked us.
One of our guys mentioned how much he like Ron Paul and that got sneers. No to Ron Paul the creator of the Tea Party movement? No because this group is the type Ron Paul has spoken of that he can do without. The “neocon influence” destroying the real agenda of Paul’s original Tea Party ideology – Paul suggested that this type of Tea Party group only “sometimes” represents his views.
“My message is somewhat different,” Paul said about conservative influence. “The message gets somewhat diluted with large movements of this nature. Everybody likes to join what looks like a popular movement, then they want to come in and influence that movement.”
So no to Ron Paul and he says no right back.
Our excursion was way too easy and in all fairness you could tell these people are products of the mass marketing of hate not values. Poor schmucks. That doesn’t mean they get a pass. It does mean there is no hope for this gang and, in this group, racism is very much alive. Kind of pathetic.
Given the age of the group and their past experiences trying to change the government in the 60’s, it’s not a good idea to tell them they will fail. Considering they lived through the protests of Vietnam, with no success in stopping the war, we figure they will learn the hard way … again.
Since we knew the mentality of the Tea Party, we knew we wouldn’t get caught, but we also knew it wouldn’t be pleasant experience. We were right on both accounts. It was difficult lowering our humanitarian levels and being that angry with a dose of rage. But we pulled it off. Expressing our anger, however, was a bit challenging and we all came away in need of a shower and hoping nothing of those 3 hours rubbed off on our clothing.
We were there. We got what we wanted and they never saw this train coming. They never knew we we there. We will most assuredly attend another Tea Party rally keep our listeners up to date on all the changes.
So if you happen to see a folding table, in front of Safeway or wherever, with informal signs saying something about no to taxes, know that isn’t us and expect he/she to be a member of the Tea Party movement. Keep in mind if you sign the petition, you’ll be one as well.
How do you spot a Tea Party infiltrator? We look just like you.
Easy Peasy.

And Another Pile of Palin: Retards & Cliff Notes
Sara Palin’s infinte wisdom on the word “retarded”
“The Obama Administration’s Chief of Staff scolded participants, calling them, “F—ing retarded,” according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal.
“Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.
A patriot in North Andover, Massachusetts, notified me of Rahm’s “retarded” slam. I join this gentleman, who is the father of a beautiful child born with Down Syndrome, in asking why the Special Olympics, National Down Syndrome Society and other groups condemning Rahm’s degrading scolding have been completely ignored by the White House. No comment from his boss, the president?”
After being goaded by commentators that Limbaugh says retareded all the time, she had her spokesperson offer a lame response ”Rahm’s is demeaning name calling,” never mentioning Limbaugh — and sources says she ordered her spokespers to phone Rush to assure him she hadn’t used his name. Then, in interview with FOX that aired this morning, Palin defended Limbaugh’s use of “retards” as “satire.” Cough … BLOW JOB … COUGH!
Check out her Facebook page. She’s taking a beating from her supporters.
And at the TeaBagging Party … well the above picture speaks for itself.
Where was Gump’s outrage when she learned John McCain cheated on his first wife Carol – who raised his children – and had Ross Perot pick up Carol’s tab?
Gotta love the party of family values … fake outrage and cliff notes.
Can you spell deceive, lie and cheat?
