Melissa Harris-Perry Erupts ‘What Is Riskier Than Living Poor In America?’

Melissa Harris-Perry took on guest Monica Mehta,  a business and finance expert, about the plight of the poor and after a few minutes of Mehta’s bullshit, Harris-Perry had had enough.

Mehta thinking her nonsense about the poor would go uncontested and said that welfare payments should not be “limitless.”

“Limitless?!” Harris-Perry said. “The limits currently … established under a Democratic president are appalling.”

That began the spiral not in Mehta’s favor. Harris-Perry said welfare recipients are “deserving” of aid.
“I just feel like, from the bottom, you have to be able to say, ‘I deserve the ability for class mobility.’”

Nancy Giles chimed in, ”which is funded by public education, by low-cost health care.”  Mehta retorted with “which is enabled by taking risks.”

That’s when Harris-Perry erupted:

    melissa is absolutely right. The mentality in america is only the wealthy need a safety net but when it comes to the middle class and poor, the wealthy feels the poor don’t need it and it’s self centered and not having empathy/sympathy for others.
