Open Discussion: Is Obama Too Forgiving of the Bush Administration?

See full size imageIt’s obvious if Eric Holder investigates torture by the Bush admininistration, he’ll we on a very short leash. The investigation will also be very limited in scope and the whole process could tie up Neo Nazi Conservative and Liberal lawyers for years.

We haven’t heard very much from Obama except that he doesn’t want to “dwell” on past potential torture practices committed by Bush/Cheney, illegal or otherwise, but he would be somewhat open to some invesitgations if warranted.

Let’s open the discussion on how this play on words could potentially hurt Obama in 2012. How much power does the left have over it’s President when it comes to following the rule of law?  Do we really want Obama back if, as an attorney, he turns a blind eye to the rule of law?  While his current role as  ”help the little guy & secure jobs” appeals to the political left in all of us, should Obama’s political agenda trump his conscious and his duty as a constitutional lawyer to do the right thing?

And most importantly, where’s the “change” when the political elite, under the Obama administration, continue to get a pass on being prosecuted for criminal behavior?

Take the poll .. leave a comment .. give it a voice.
