April 5, 2011
By
Brian Deschane

In REAL AMERICA what are you’re prospects for a job if your 27 years old with no degree and little experience? You worked for several Republicans state candidates. You’ve held part-time posts with the Wisconsin Builders Association and the Wisconsin Business Council … BUT … Your daddy is Jerry Deschane, a big PAC lobbyist with the Wisconsin Builders Associations that gave $29,000 to Walker last year and funneled more than $92,000 through its conduit to Walker’s campaign over the past two years. Total donations: $121,652. What are your prospects for a job, now?  REAL GOOD. A few months ago, experience be damned,  Brain Deschane landed a $67,000-per-year job in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration overseeing environmental...

Harry Reid: GOP ‘Afraid’ of the Tea Party

April 4, 2011
By

We hate Sunday Morning news shows. They’re so full of bulbous, self serving, political propagandists .. HOWEVER .. one of our listeners caught a Sunday Morning story over at Crooks and Liars. It’s a few precious moments of wimpy Senator Harry Reid, on Face The Nation, fueling the GOP vs the Tea Party feud. We liked it. Hat Tip to John Amato and the good people over at Crook and Liars

Why FOX News, The Radical Right and Tea Party Embrace Dumb People

April 3, 2011
By
I See Dumb People

Dumb people have taken over.  Dumb talk controls the airwaves, TV, ipods … even C-Span. Dumb laws are being proposed and dumb is still starting wars. Dumb is in. FOX NEWS lures men away from their propaganda (lies) with sexy women anchors knowing they’ll be viewed as sex objects. Pretty sparkly things. It works. Men, who still make more money than women, can be weakened to the point of amoeba brains and throw money at FOX sponsors without realizing it.  The Rich Smart People, who own FOX News, have perfected marketing to weak, dumb downed middle, and upper middle class men, with …. money. Rush Limbaugh appeals to the...

10 Dying U.S. Industries

April 1, 2011

10 Dying U.S. Industries

What kills an industry? Technological innovation or global competition. With shift in social focus and marketing, some U.S. industries either adjust or disappear. Six of the 10 are clearly getting killed by technology: wired telecoms (i.e. landlines); newspapers; game and video rental; video postproduction; record stores; and photofinishing (i.e. photo printing). Two of the 10 are clearly getting killed by global competition: apparel manufacturing and mills. (Mills, in this context, basically refers to textiles — it includes textile mills, textile mills, apparel mills and carpet and rug mills.) That leaves two other industries: manufactured home dealers and formal wear. Formal wear is getting killed indirectly by foreign competition: Globalization means...

House Tea Party Holding GOP Hostage on Budget – GOP Leaders Turn To Democrats

March 30, 2011
By
John Boehner

The honeymoon is over. Speaker of the House John Boehner’s in trouble. Budget negotiation trouble. The ranks are split.  Boehner cannot muster the votes he needs from Tea Party Republicans on $61 billion in budget cuts, and House leaders are courting moderate/blue Democrats for help. The Tea Party Conservatives are firm on $100 billion cuts, not 61 billion coughed up by the GOP,  nor 30 billion the Democrats proposed and are prepared to shut down the government next week. With 241 Republicans, GOP leaders can afford to lose 23 GOP votes before needing Democratic help. That’s why House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy reached out to leaders of the Blue Dog Coalition,...

Deputy Prosecutor Carlos Lam Resigns After Raising “False Flag” Assault For Gov Walker To Use

March 25, 2011
By
Carlos Lam

Hurricane “Union Workers” has claimed the career of yet another sneaky, hateful and all around evil human being. Carlos Lam, deputy prosecutor in Johnson County, Indiana has resigned following the publication of an e-mail he sent in February suggesting that Wisconsin Republicans could use a ‘false flag’ operation to discredit union protesters – fake an assault or assassination attempt on Walker in order to discredit the unions and protesters When contacted by Wisconsin Watch, a project of the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism,  Lam initially denied sending the e-mail, claiming that he had been the victim of identity theft, and said he did not support the criminal activities described in the e-mail: ,...

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard’s War On Women

March 24, 2011
By
Dennis Daugaard

As chair of the Republican Governors Association, Mississippi’s Governor Haley Barbour has made one thing clear … his new crop of Aryan Republican Governors have declared war.  It began with their “hate assault” on the middle and working class in Wisconsin, and several other states, and have now dropped their hate bombs on women. In lock step with the new SS Republican governors, South Dakota’s governor, Dennis Daugaard, signed a bill that creates unprecedented restrictions on access to abortion care. ACLU STEPS IN: “This law requires women to wait 72 hours between the first counseling session with the doctor and the abortion; it also requires women to first visit...

Libya – Who’s War Is It? Obama’s or Hilary’s

Yes, it was Obama’s call, despite the outrage at Obama by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, but here’s an interesting story published in the NY Times implying Hilary pushed for this war that begged the question, who’s war, in Libya, is this? Was bombing Libya a push by Secretary of State Hilary C to help Obama not miss and opportunity to stop a slaughter before it begins? Hilary’s fear that if Obama doesn’t act on Libya it might turn into a missed opportunity to do the right thing quickly, unlike Clinton’s missed opportunity  in Rwandan. Alternet, via The Nations, implied that it was The Women Behind Obama  that pushed this war,...

Will Haley Barbour Run for President? Absolutely!

Will Haley Barbour Run for President? Absolutely!

He’s from a state that is DEAD LAST in just about everything except racism. Literacy? Last…. Education? Last…. Infant mortality? Last….. Life expectancy? Last… Women’s involvement in government? … Last. Big deal. The list of failures, at home, by Republican Mississippi Gov. Haley “Boss Hogg” Barbour, a very wealthy white racist, goes on and on, but in DC he’s an icon. Mississippi’s “lasts” are unimportant when you’ve perfected a larger than life persona where it really counts … in the Republican bank accounts everywhere.  When Barbour speaks, wallets open. From all the years Barbour spent raising money and being a top lobbyist in Washington for such beloved industries as...

Representative Todd Akins (R-MO) – Buffoon (video)

March 19, 2011
By

There are idiots in Congress. Wait … for today, let’s narrow that down to the idiots in the House of Representatives. There are many idiots in the House of Representatives. Yes, many Democrat idiots, but they pale in comparison to Republicans idiots in the House of Representatives. Between attacking womens rights, the war on the working class and defunding NPR, Republicans are buffoons. Case in point …. Congressman Todd Akins (R-MO 2nd District) member of the House Budget committee and chair of the House Arms Services committee, was recently on C-Span’s Washington Journal making an idiot out of himself. Akins used fuzzy math analogies on how we need to...

Tractors Roll Into Madison, As Wisconsin Readies For The Biggest Protest Yet

By John Nichols – The Nation The tens. The hundreds. The thousands. The tens of thousands. The hundreds of thousands. Wisconsinites from every background, every religion, every politics and every job have filled the Capitol Square for the past month. Their message has been clear and unequivocal. They oppose Scott Walker’s assault on working families. They oppose the lawless actions of legislative leaders who are more determined to advance the governor’s political agenda than to respect their colleagues or to serve the interests of the whole state. This has been an exhilarating, frustrating, depressing and empowering time. Emotions have soared and collapsed. But Wisconsinites are a resilient people. Nothing Scott Walker...

Lobby Firm BGR To Throw GOP Fundraiser For Wisconsin Republicans

March 10, 2011
By
Lobbyist

On The heals of the 18-1 vote by Republicans to bust Wisconsin unions, Republican supporters will gather at the downtown DC headquarters of lobbying firm BGR Group March 16 for a “donations” event for the GOP in Wisconsin. Donors “are asked to give at least $1,000 to the state Republican Party’s federal account” to attend. It takes $1,000 to get you in the door, but “sponsors” are asked to pony up $2,500 and “hosts” 5,000. The state GOP says the event “was scheduled well before” Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) controversial budget was introduced. “While we’ll be doing all we can on various fronts to try to counter some of the...

Wisconsin Republicans State Senate Passes Anti-Union Bill

The Wisconsin state Senate just passed a new, stripped-down “budget repair bill” — which now excludes all the fiscal elements of the original budget repair bill, and simply includes the original’s provisions to roll back the collective bargaining and organizational rights of Wisconsin’s public employee unions. Gov. Scott Walker  released this statement: “The Senate Democrats have had three weeks to debate this bill and were offered repeated opportunities to come home, which they refused. In order to move the state forward, I applaud the Legislature’s action today to stand up to the status quo and take a step in the right direction to balance the budget and reform government. The...

1. 20 Whoppers Spit Out By Scott Walker 2. How Screwed Are American Homeowners?

Alternet - 20 Big Lies Told By Scott Walker by Russell King The level of deception and dishonesty Walker has exhibited in the battle over his union-busting “budget repair” bill sinks to astounding new lows. Walker: His bill is about fixing a budget crisis. The truth: Even Fox News’ Shepherd Smith couldn’t swallow that one, declaring that it’s all about politics and union busting, and “to pretend that this is about a fiscal crisis in the state of Wisconsin is malarkey.” 19 More Walker’s Whopper’s Crooks n Liars – How Screwed Are American Homeowners? CPAC: Radio and Cable News Is Ours, It’s Time to Take Over Hollywood

The public was sleeping in 2003 when Republicans owned the government and the FCC. With Bush appointed Kevin Martin at the FCC helm, companies like Clear Channel were allowed to buy up mom and pop radio stations and thus began the slow run of the big business messages to the public. It worked. Music played on a Clear Channel station was what Clear Channel wanted listener to hear and nothing more. While money flowed, artists caved and sponsors saw ungodly returns. The unsuspecting public never saw the train coming. When Bush won the2004  election, big businesses began to see huge profits from their meager investments in the radio market....
