Paul Ryan Charges Constituents to PAY-PER-CHAT

Congress is OPEN FOR BUSINESS

It will cost $15 to ask Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) a question in person during the August congressional recess.

Ryan, who took substantial criticism from his  Wisconsin constituents in April after he introduced the Republicans’ budget proposal, isn’t the only member of congress whose August recess town hall-style meetings are strictly pay-per-view.

Rep. Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.) is scheduled to appear Aug. 23 at a luncheon gathering of the Arizona Republican Lawyers Association. For $35, attendees can question Quayle and enjoy a catered lunch at the Phoenix office of the Snell & Wilmer law firm.

And Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-Minn.) took heat in Duluth this weekend for holding private events in his district’s population and media center — including a $10-per-head meeting to be hosted next week by the local chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, which on its invitation notes that the organization “supported Chip in his stunning upset over longtime Congressman Jim Oberstar in the 2010 election.”

All this in the wake of the disasterus beating the GOP took at town hall meetings over the Republican budget plan with MAIN STREET in attendance.

They want all the power then members of congress feel they are higher than the population, take away the healthcare coverage afforded to congress by taxpayers, take away the salaries and congress would be just like the majority of america without a job.

Right Mike they will destroy all of us

of course this is how congress acts. Even democrats have a superiority complex that they don’t have to speak to the voters of america.

I think the best part is 2 fold. What happened to Gabriel Giffords put fear in them and how main street reacted last spring. The house of cards is crumbling

Not another tax? Call the tax police

Perfectly understandable. No reason they should waste their time talking to the riffraff when it could be better spent with their true masters.

What a weasel.  I wouldn’t want to talk to the people who voted for him either.  Undoubtedly extremely easily led, stupid, people.

    • ibjellybean

I would like to thank the Supreme Court for removing the voice of the American people and replacing it with special interests and their stacks of cash.  This isn’t a right or left issue; but, a fundamental question as to whether our government serves the people or the lobbyists.  I urge every one to contact their elected officials and demand a constitutional amendment that reverses these abominable court decisions.

There’s a reason why they call them whores.

What? One of the Young Guns is changing the game? He does not want to hear the truth from his constituents that went out and voted for him? What will Fox and Friends say about this? Is he really that dumb?

Ryan can’t take the heat. He is also an idiot. He’ll start jacking up the fees in order to protect himself from questions.Hopefully his constituents, particularly those on medicare and social security, send him packing before he reduces their checks. You know, “keep the government hands off my medicare!”
