You know it’s an election year when women hating Republicans like Todd Akin R-MO (running against Claire McCaskill) are forced to walk back on comments involving women and rape. Pretending stupid about rape doesn’t play well, and infant Todd Akin learned his political balls were being squeezed
Akin told KTVI-TV
“First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare,” in a FOX interview Aiken gave on Sunday. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”
There are about 32,000 unwanted pregnancies from rape every year, but the rape/pregnancy expert TODD AIKEN said if that [bullshit] about the female body fails - abortions is still not an option.
“Let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work, or something,” Akin said. “I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist and not attacking the child.”
McCaskill said in a tweet, she was “stunned” by Akin’s comments.
When the GOP women folk, and others, got wind of what this wind bag said, the fury was unleashed and Aiken was forced to step away from his own big fat mouth.
“As a member of Congress, I believe that working to protect the most vulnerable in our society is one of my most important responsibilities, and that includes protecting both the unborn and victims of sexual assault. In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it’s clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year. Those who perpetrate these crimes are the lowest of the low in our society and their victims will have no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they deserve.”
Translation = Please vote for me anyway even though I’m a heartless pig puppet of the Republican party who hates women.
